I’m a humorless black lesbian separatist. I refuse to associate with, in order of importance, men and bigots, which means I don’t associate with a whole lot of feminists, so many of them being male and/or bigoted.
This blog is a record of my observations, particularly those pertaining to the oppression of women who are black. I would include other nonwhite women, but so many of them are opposed to being expressly associated with blackness, the way “voluptuous” women are opposed to being associated with “obesity” and the way “average” women are opposed to being associated with ugliness. They may not be “ideal,” but at least they aren’t black/obese/ugly, and they take great pride in that fact. These fence-straddlers and walkers of the middle road certainly aren’t going to identify with those at the very bottom of the hierarchy if they don’t have to. So I won’t speak for them.
The word ‘woman’, unless otherwise specified, means ‘black woman’ on my blog.
